The Delights of His Friendship. Genisis 18 brings out the delight of true friendship with God, as compared with simply feeling His presence occasionally in prayer. This friendship means being so intimately in touch with God that you never even need to ask Him to show you His will. It is evidence of a level of intimacy which confirms that you are nearing the final stage of your discipline in the life of faith. When you have a rightstanding relationship with God, you have a life of freedom, liberty, and delight; you are God's will. And all of your commonsense decisions are actually His will for you, unless you sense a feeling of restraint brought on by a check in your spirit. You are free to make decisions are wrong He will lovingly produce that sense of restraint. Once he does, you must stop immediately.

 

The Difficulties of His Friendship. Why did Abraham stop praying when he did? He stopped because he still was lacking the level of intimacy in his relationship with God, which would enable him boldly to continye on with the Lord in prayer until his desire was granted. Whenever we stop short of our true desire in prayer and say, "Well, I don't know, maybe this is not God's will," then we still have another level to go. It shows that we are not as intimately acquainted with God as Jesus was, and as Jesus would have us to be - " . . . that they may be one just as We are one . . ."(John 17:22). Think of the last thing you prayed about - were you devoted to your desire or to God? "For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him"(Matthew 6:8). The reason for asking is so you may get to know God better. "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart"(Psalm 37:4). We should keep praying to get a perfect understanding of God Himself.

 

 

그의 우정의 기쁨. 창세기 18장은 기도할 때 가끔 하나님의 존재를 느끼는 것에 비해 하나님과의 진정한 우정의 기쁨을 말한다. 이 우정은 하나님과 매우 친밀하게 접촉하는 것을 의미하기 때문에 하나님의 뜻을 보여달라고 요청할 필요조차 없다. 이것은 신앙생활에서 수련의 마지막 단계에 이르렀다는 것을 확인시켜주는 친밀감의 수준의 증거이다.

당신이 하나님과 올바른 관계를 맺을 때, 여러분은 자유와 자유와 기쁨의 삶을 갖게 된다;

당신은 하나님의 뜻이다.

그리고 당신의 모든 상식적인 결정들은 실제로 당신에 대한 그의 의지이다.

당신은 잘못된 결정을 자유롭게 내릴 수 있지만 주님께서는 막으실 것이다.

만약 주께서 막으신다면, 당신은 즉시 멈춰야 한다.

아브라함은 왜 기도를 멈췄을까? 그는 하나님과의 관계에서 아직도 친밀감의 수준이 부족하여 자신의 소망이 이루어질 때까지 과감하게 주님과 기도를 계속할 수 없었기 때문에 그만두었다. 우리는 기도하다 "글쎄, 나도 모르겠어, 어쩌면 이것은 하나님의 뜻이 아닐지도 몰라"라고 말할 때가 있고 그때마다 우리는 여전히 가야 할 또 다른 단계가 있다.

그것은 우리가 예수님이 그랬던 것처럼, 그리고 예수님이 우리에게 시키시던 것처럼 "… 그들이 우리가 하나인 것처럼 하나가 될 수 있다는 것을 보여주신다."(요 17:22). 당신이 마지막으로 기도한 것을 생각해 보자 - 당시은 소망을 위하여 헌신하였는가? 하나님께 헌신하였는가? "네 아버지는 네가 하나님께 묻기 전에 네가 필요로 하는 것을 아신다."(마 6:8).

묻는 이유는 하나님을 더 잘 알기 위해서이다.

"여호와 안에서 너희도 즐거워하라 그러면 너희 마음의 소망을 주리라"(시 37:4).

우리는 하나님 자신을 완벽하게 이해하기 위해 계속 기도해야 합니다.
