The source of abundant joy 담대한 기쁨 주님은 나의 최고봉 3월 7일

In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Paul was speaking here of the things that might seem likely to separate a saint from the love of God.

But the remarkable thing is that nothing can come between the love of God and a saint. The things Paul mentioned in this passage can and do disrupt the close fellowship of our soul with God and separate our natural  life from Him. But none of them is able to come between the love of God and the soul of a saint on the spiritual level. The underlying foundation of the Christian faith is the undeserved, limitless miracle of the love of God that was exhibited on the Cross of Calvary; a love that is not earned and can never be. Paul said this is the reason that "in all these things we are more than conquerors." We are super-victors with a joy that coes from experiencing the very things which look as if they are going to overwhelm us.

Huge waves that would frighten an ordinary swimmer produce a tremendous thrill for the surfer who has ridden them.  Let's apply that to our own circumstances. The things we try to avoid and fight against -tribulation, suffering,, and persecution - are the very things that produce abundant joy in us. "We are more than conquerors through Him" "in all these things"; not in spite of them, but in the midst of them. A saint doesn't know the joy of the Lord in spite of tribulation, but because of it. Paul said, " I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation" (2 Corinthians 7:4).

The undiminished radiance, which is the result of abundant joy, is not built on anything passing, but on the love of God that nothing can change. And the experiences of life, whether they are everyday events or terrifying ones, are powerless to "separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord"(Romans 8:39).

바울은 사랑의 하나님고 성도를 구분한는 것 같아보이는 것들을 나열했다. 하지만 주목할 만한 것은 그 어느 것도 성도와 하나님의 사랑 사이에 균열을 만들 수 있는 것은 없다는 것이다. 바울이 언급했던 것들이 하나님과 우리의 영의 하나됨을 방해하거나 주님으로부터 멀어지는 경험을 잠깐 할 수는 있다.

하지만 영적 차원에서 보면 그 어느 것도 하나님의 사랑으로부터 성도를 분리 할 수 없다. 

기독교 신앙의 기초는 갈보리 십자가 위에 나타난 하나님의 끝없는 사랑이다. 받을 자격이 전혀 없는 우리에게 베푸신 놀라운 사랑인 것이다. 이 사랑은 우리의 노력으로 얻을 수 있는 종류의 것이 아니다. 이런 뜻에서 바울은 이사랑이

" 이 모든 일에 넉넉히 이기는 이유"라고 말한다.

이 사랑은 우리가 여러 재난과 어려움을 능히 이겨서 최고의 승자가 될 수 있는 이유이다.

파도타기를 하는 사람에게는 수영하는 사람들이 두려워하는 거대한 파도가 즐겁고 멋진 기회이다. 

우리가 두려워하는 환난, 고생, 박해에 맞서 싸울 필요가 없다. 이런 것들은 더할 수 없는 기쁨을 가져다 줄 것이다.

우리는 "이 모든 일들을, 우리를 사랑하시는 이로 말미암아 넉넉히 이기게" 된다.

대항하여 맞서는 것이 아니라 그렇게 되는 것이다.

성도는 고난에 맞서 대항함으로 주님의 기쁨을 아는 것이 아니다.

그 고난 때문에 주의 기쁨에 동참하게 되는 것이다.

바울은 말한다. 

 

"모든 환난 가운데서도 기쁨이 넘치는 도다"(고후7:14).

 

담대한 기쁨은 스쳐 지나가는 일에서 오지 않고,

이 세상 무엇으로도 변화할 수 없는 영원한 하나님의 사랑에 기초한다.

 

순간에 불과한

인생의 여러 고난과 어려움이 우리 주 예수 그리스도 안에 있는

하나님의 사랑을 빼앗을 수 없다.
