I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go,

Jereiah 45:5

This is the firm and immovable secret of the Lord to those who trust Him - " I will give your life to you . . ." What more does a man want than his life? It is the essential thing. " . . .your life . . . as a prize . . ." means that wherever you may go, even if it is into hell, you will come out with your life and nothing can harm it.

So many of us are caught up in exhibiting things for others to see, not showing off property and possessions,

but our blessings.

All these things that we so proudly show have to go.

But there is something greater that can never go -

the life that "is hidden with Christ in God" (Colossians 3:3).

 

Are you prepared to let God take you into total oneness with Himself, paying no more attention to what you call the great things of life? Are you prepared to surrender totally and let go? The true test of abadonment or surrender is in refusing to say, "Well, what about this?"

Beware of your own ideas and speculations.

The moment you allow yourself to think,

"What about this?" you show

that you have not surrendered and

that you do not really trust God.

 

But once you do surrender, you will no longer think about what God is going to do. Abandonment means to refuse yourself the luxury of asking any questions. If you totally abandon yourself to God, He immediately says to you, " I will give your life to you as a prize . . ."

The reason people are tired of life is

that God has not given them anything-

they have not been given their life "as a prize."

The way to get out of

that condition is to abandon yourself to God.

And

once you do get to the point of total surrender to Him, you will be the most surprised and delighted person on earth.

God will have you absolutely, without any limitations, and

He will have given you your life.

If you are not there, it is either because of disobedience in your life or your refusal to be simple enough.

너의 가는 모든 곳에서는 내가 너로 생명 얻기를 노략 물 얻는 것 같게 하리라

예레미야 45장 5절

 

"내가 너에게 너의 생명을 주리라." 이 말씀은 주님을 믿는 이에게 베푸시는 주님의 분명한 진리이다. 자신의 생명보다 더 중요한 게 무엇이 있을까? 생명은 가장 중요하다. "생명 얻기를 노략물을 얻는 것 갖게 하라"라는 말씀은 당신이 어디를 가든지 - 심지어 지옥에 가더라도 - 살아서 나올 것이며 아무도 당신을 해칠 수 없다는 뜻이다.

우리는 재산, 소유, 축복을 사람들에게 보여주기에 급급하지만

그것들은 언젠가 사라진다.

그러나 결코 없어지지 않을 위대한 것이 있다.

바로 그리스도와 함께 하나님 안에 감추어진 우리의 생명이다.

 

당신은 이제껏 인생에서 위대한 것으로 여기는 것들에서 관심을 끊고 하나님께 모든 것을 바칠 각오가 되어 있는가? 모든 것을 포기한다는 것은 "이 정도는 괜찮지 않을까?"라는 질문마저 용납하지 않는 것이다.

당신의 생각이 나 짐작을 경계하라.

철저히 포기하지 못하기 때문에

하나님을 온전히 신뢰할 수 없는 것이다.

 

하나님을 위해 온전히 자신을 포기하면, 당신은 하나님이 무엇을 하려 하시는지 더는 생각하지 않을 것이다. 포기하는 것은 질문하는 사치를 스스로 거부하는 것이다. 참으로 하나님 앞에 모든 것을 포기하면 하나님은 말씀하실 것이다. "내가 너로 생명 얻기를 노략 물 얻는 것 갖게 하리라."

사람들이 삶에 지치는 까닭은

하나님이 아무것도 주시지 않아 '노략물을 얻는 것 같이'

생명을 얻지 못하기 때문이다.

 

이런 상황에서 벗어나려면

하나님 앞에서 자신을 온전히 포기해야 한다.

그러면 당신은 이 세상에서 가장 놀라운 기쁨의 소유자가 될 것입니다.

하나님은 아무 제약 없이 당신을 소유하시고

생명을 당신에게 주실 것이다.

 

아직 그런 상황에서 거하지 못했다면 그 이유는 당신이 불순종했거나 하나님 앞에서 단순해지기를 거부했기 때문이다.
